Rental Policies
Financial
PAY - remainder of balance while staying at camp. We don't have the ability to extend credit, sorry. You can pay online with credit card, mail a check or in person with cash, card or check.
DEPOSIT - If reservation is made within 6 months of arrival date we will take 50% of your total fee, less tax to reserve your space. If prior to 6 months of arrival date, we need only 10% of the total less tax. We will contact you for the full deposit when it's time. You must present a valid, major credit card to us for security deposit purposes.
CANCELLATION & REFUND – If you cancel your reservation 90 days in advance, we will keep only 10% of the price for your proposed stay and return the rest to you. Otherwise please consider your deposit as a donation to the ministry of Bethany Birches Camp.
CLEANING DEPOSIT – REFUNDABLE – contact us at least two weeks prior to your arrival if you plan to clean, otherwise we will do the cleaning.
TAX - The state of Vermont requires that we pay a 9% room tax to all who use our facility unless you are a church, religious or non-profit organization with tax exemption. Please send us your Federal Tax ID # if you plan not to pay the tax.
AGE - You must be 25 or older and present a valid, major credit card for security deposit ($500 if you've never rented facility here before).
Substance
ALCOHOL - There should be no use of alcohol on the campgrounds during the summer camping season or any other youth event (request this policy from a staff person for more detail).
The remainder of the time, there shall be no public (outdoor) alcohol use. Any cost for repairs caused while alcohol is present will be added to the rental charges and charged directly to the credit card you've supplied unless you preffer us to use a different card.
SMOKING is not allowed inside and we beg you to dispose of your butts cautiously and discretely (not on the ground and not to set fire to anything).
Pets
At camp, we love animals! However, we don't like animals that are obnoxious or annoying. If you have a loud animal or one that doesn't get along with others or occasionally destroys physical property, please leave them at home. If you do bring a pet to camp you should know these things:
- You must pick up their waste
- They are not allowed in any closed in areas (the kitchen, bathhouse and BBC Cabin)
- They may sleep with you in the shelters in the woods or be in the pavilion
